Grand Opening of Semiconductor Nanotechnology Alliance

The Inauguration Ceremony of Semiconductor Nanotechnology Alliance (SNA) was held today, officiated by Mr. Alfred Sit, Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Innovation and Technology Bureau, Mr. Zhi-ming Liu, General Manager, Beijing-Hong Kong Exchange of Personnel Centre, Mr. Ming Yam Wong and Prof. Philip Chan, Honorary Chairman, SNA and Dr. Meikei Ieong, Founding Chairman, SNA. A number of honourable guests from notable universities, enterprises, associations, and public bodies also participated in the ceremony.

SNA is a global non-profit organisation that aims to promote research and innovation in the field of micro- and nano-electronics, and strengthen the competitiveness of industry. It is a joint effort between the industry, academia and public bodies. It has four key objectives: 1. serving as a global platform for sharing the latest technologies and best practices; 2. promoting the importance of micro- and nano-technologies to the society; 3. encouraging open collaboration among academia, industries, and public bodies; and 4. facilitating commercialization and venture formation through strategic networks.

The ceremony was an exciting moment that marked the grand opening of SNA. With the support and engagement of various stakeholders, there will be a bright future for the microelectronics industry.
